Early Mornings or rather Late Nights

Street Photography

Whoever knows me also knows I am not a fan of early mornings. I prefer the silence and solitude of the night. It allows me to think better, to understand better, and to find peace.

Nothing is more beautiful than when after a long night of driving and thinking over major steps in your life, you capture a magnificent image at sunrise.

On February 10, 2006, I handed my resignation letter over to the chairman of the board of directors of the Fernandes group. After a beautiful 14 career including a challenging last 4 years I decided to quit as president of the Fernandes Bottling Company.

Many more things would change that year, but this image I of the unfinished temple in Paramaribo, captured on my way home, after a drive that started at 4 am, would symbolize a lot of what was to come in the next few years.

I am grateful for moments like these and happy to share with the world. I did share it before on my personal Instagram, and maybe wil exhibit a print in the future.

For me this image represents An End and A Beginning, A Promise and Faith, A Revelation of Sorts.
